What is Portuguese Table?
Portuguese Table is a community of Portuguese hosts that can either be professional or amateur chefs, who open the doors of their own houses in order to provide traditional meals and unique moments to all the travellers who wish to know Portugal genuinely.
We join our hosts to guests from all over the world to experience typical Portuguese flavours, meet Portuguese people and learn about our history, culture and folkway.
Is it free to sign up on Portuguese Table?
Signing up on Portuguese Table is totally free of charge, whether you register as a host or as a guest.
How do I know that the host is a good cook?
All the hosts present in our platform were personally validated after an interview and luch/dinner test with the Portuguese Table team.
We also recommend reading the reviews and ratings given by other guests on our site. Our community of hosts and guests are encouraged to provide feedback on their dining experiences.
Should I join an event if I’m allergic to some products?
The answer at the moment is plain simple. You shouldn’t! At the moment there are no menus carefully prepared concerning a particular allergy. Later on, we’ll have menus and hosts for specific food exigencies.
When will I receive my booking details and the exact location of my meal?
As soon as the event you chose as the minimum amount of people in order for it to occur, you’ll automatically receive all the details that you need.
What if I have to cancel my reservation?
We understand that sometimes things come up, sometimes you have to reschedule and sometimes you may wish to cancel a Portuguese Table reservation.
Cancellations at least 48hours before the event qualify for a total refund.
Cancellations within 24 hours of an event are not eligible for a refund.

Do I get refund if the host cancels the meal?
Yes, you will. If the host encounters a problem, or is unable to prepare the meal, you will be refunded. Or, if you prefer, we’ll do our best to find you a suitable alternative host within the same area, price and menu type.
